Geography Victoria Strategy 2025-2030
Geography is the science and study of place – the discipline that connects people, environment and space to help us understand and shape our world.
Geography Victoria is a newly formed not-for-profit organisation aligned with the Royal Society of Victoria, that provides people of all ages, backgrounds and abilities the opportunity to come together and learn more about their world. In doing so, it fills a gap for such a group in Victoria and brings Victoria into line with other Australian states.
This strategic plan sets out how we will champion geography in Victoria over the next five years. We will:
- expand our impact and membership,
- create places for connection and learning, and
- support geographers of all ages and backgrounds.
Our objectives are to empower geographers, amplify the contribution of our discipline, engage our members, and sustain our organisation for the long term.
This plan will ensure that Geography Victoria fulfils its purpose to become more than an organisation, but a vibrant, connected, learning community.
